Hi, welcome to my website. I'm a 17-year-old girl who fell in love with fitness early on. This is my story:
I was 14 when I first stepped foot in the gym, although this was not a fun time for me. I used to be a bit bigger and had a bigger appetite than most. I became insecure about my body, so I tried several times to lose weight by eating healthier, but I could never stick with it. During corona time I wanted to try it again and started running and eating healthier. Just a little less sugar and running 3 times a week, which I really enjoyed. This went really well, I felt healthy and I slowly lost some weight. I started to learn more by watching videos on YouTube. That's where I found out what macros and a calorie deficit were. This went well at first and slowly became slimmer, but it was never enough. The insecurity remained and became even more insecure. I became obsessed with diet and exercise and it became compulsive. I lost my period and became underweight. I didn't feel happy anymore. I went to the gym just to burn calories on the treadmill. I had no energy left and was always cold.
Then in January 2021 I saw a YouTuber who changed everything for me and gave me a wake-up call. She had exactly the same story as me and told exactly the things I needed to hear. I slowly built up a good relationship with food and sport again with the help of my family.
This is when the gym started to become fun for me. I did it because it made me feel good. I stopped focusing on losing weight and started focusing on getting stronger. Then a world opened up for me. I started eating in balance. Eating what I wanted and what would make me feel good.
